Lucan, our Wolf Ambassador
AKA the “Dork Wolf”
The JABCECC adopted Lucan when he was just over 8 weeks of age. Lucan grew up with humans as his pack, and through his intense socialization and training, he makes an amazing ambassador for his wild wolf counterparts. Lucan allows us to teach people about grey wolves, their conservation needs, and their importance in our ecosystem as a keystone species.
Lucan has been known to be a bit of a dork and routinely finds himself trying to sit on guests’ laps, rolling upside down at their feet, and just being a complete goofball.
When he is involved in a photoshoot, he usually spends most of the time trying to lick the face of the human in the photoshoot with him. We try to make him look majestic, but sometimes, it just isn’t possible.
We are optimistic that, in the future, we will be able to find a wolfdog or wolf in need of rescue who can be a companion animal to Lucan. Until then, his animal BFFs are our coyote girls, Aggie and Willie.
